CAMPAIGN - MUSICA SACRA 2020
Acceptance & Resignation in a spiritual context is a form of letting go. For me it is, as it were, one concept and it symbolizes 'tolerance & acceptance'. I was looking for the perfect mix between the 'spiritual' and the 'religious' side that the festival emphasizes. My interest has always been in different religions & philosophies, hence the mix of these.
My interest and inspiration fell on the Hopi tribe, from Arizona. They live a subsistence agricultural existence and the Hopis believe that they are one with the universe, mankind is the 'caretaker' of the earth and the earth is on a contract with humanity. The spiral is in this case used as a symbol for the universe/our world. The hand holds this spiral instead of this spiral being incorporated in the hand itself. It symbolizes the idea of an after life.
